General Access

Open seasonally (May–October) depending on weather, snow melt, and road conditions.

Best Driving Route

From Phoenix, take US-60 East → AZ-260 East → AZ-373 to Alpine, then continue about 3 miles southeast on US-180 to Luna Lake.

Luna Lake Trail Route

Short shoreline paths and meadow trails offer easy walks with lake views, fishing access, birdwatching points, and photography spots.

Vehicle Type

Accessible by all standard passenger vehicles during the open season.

Tonto Pass

Not required. Luna Lake is in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, not Tonto National Forest.
