Best Driving Route

From Williams, take I-40 West → Exit 161 (Golf Course Drive) → head north and follow signs to Cataract Lake County Park for easy, smooth access suitable for all vehicles.

Cataract Lake (Williams) Trail Route

Start at the Willow Springs Lake parking area on FR 149 and follow the easy Rim Trail loop through tall pines with shoreline views and fishing spots.

Vehicle Type

High-clearance or 4WD vehicles are recommended for unpaved forest roads or wet conditions, is recommended due to muddy or rutted forest roads.

Tonto Pass

A Tonto Pass or daily permit may be required for some access points, camping, or boating—check current regulations before visiting.
