Best Driving Route

From Phoenix, take US-60 East → Show Low → AZ-260 East → Forest Road 34, following signs to Big Lake. Roads are paved until the final forest access point.

Big Lake Trail Route

Short trails and shoreline paths provide easy walking access, scenic viewpoints, and fishing spots, suitable for all skill levels.

Vehicle Type

Accessible via standard passenger vehicles in summer, high-clearance or 4WD recommended in winter or wet conditions.

Tonto Pass

Not required. Managed by Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Standard camping fees or day-use fees may apply.
