General Access

Accessible year-round, with most access points open sunrise to sunset, hough hours can vary by season and water levels.

Best Driving Route

From Cottonwood, follow AZ-260 or AZ-89A to well-marked access points like Tuzigoot, Lower Tapco, and Beasley Flat.

Verde River Trail Route

Take short, easy riverside paths from parking areas for direct access to launch points, swimming spots, and scenic views.

Vehicle Type

All passenger vehicles are suitable, main roads are paved, with some sites using mild graded dirt roads.

Tonto Pass

Not required. most Verde River sites don’t need a Tonto Pass, but some areas may require a Red Rock Pass or day-use fee.

Camping Fees - No camping directly on the riverbanks.
